WHY ISN’T QUT DEFENDING ITS STUDENTS? | Herald Sun

Surely the Queensland University of Technology has a special responsibility to protect future students from going through this Kafkaesque nightmare – and from losing their free speech. It should also remove its official racism:

An unseemly legal war began when white students were turned away from the ­Oodgeroo Unit, described as a “safe place” for study and relaxation reserved for indigenous students….

Surely the exclusion of white students on the basis of race at the Oodgeroo unit is highly questionable and challenges the egalitarian ethos to which universities aspire — or pretend to…
