To me, blogs are accessible, they are written for people to read and comprehend, and there are reviews following the article which are usually short and and to the point, and members of the general public are much more likely to give honest opinions of what they have read than a group if peers.

Every so often I follow a link to a science paper, and have found them unreadable, and there are usually no indication of what the peers said, or if the author of the paper agreed with them or not. Worse are papers written by a mob … any more than two people.
