TURNBULL SPENDS FIRST, DECIDES WHY LATER | Herald Sun

Normally you’d first figure out how to lift school standards and then work out the cost.

………………….

On what basis was the extra money allocated if the Government hadn’t yet worked out how to spend it to lift performance? No wonder school standards have been falling, not rising.

UPDATE

David Crowe:

Another way of looking at [Simon] Birmingham’s spending increase is that he plans to lift school funding to $30.6bn in 2027. The infamous chart in the 2014 budget showed Gillard would have pushed school funding to about $31bn in 2025.

In other words, the Coalition is heading to the same destination as Labor but getting there two years later.
