Another example of the Left’s march through the insitutions, including those which can stifle and censor conservatives:
“Else we get to precisely where we are today: Liberals who just manage a Labor agenda, while the country gently slides over the cliff.”
I would argue that “where we are today” is a place captured by populist politicians, whose agenda is designed with one objective in mind: to grab and retain power and influence long enough to secure a wealthy lifestyle and be invited to all the right international gabfests.
That being so, it follows that ‘populist politics’ requires that policies are ‘popular’, thus they all (1) avoid doing anything which might not be ‘popular’ and (2) give away ever-more free stuff, funded by borrowing and raiding the accounts of ‘unpopular’ groups, such as big business and oldies.
That’s it. That’s politics today in a nutshell, what we hilariously call ‘government’.
